The team has delivered power generation projects and services to the world's electric power market for over 30 years. Over that time, CRS has earned the reputation for building clean, environmentally-friendly power generation plants that are second to none in design, optimal performance, durability and safety. CRS expertise and credentials are the result of almost 70 such power projects that range from the drawing board to construction and operation.
CRS brings together industry-leading professionals to assist utilities and energy intensive companies to cope with the rapidly changing world of rising energy costs and challenging environmental requirements. CRS integrates proprietary designs and efficient technologies while utilizing renewable, waste, or clean energy sources. As a result, CRS is uniquely qualified and committed to deliver clean and reliable power generation to the world.
CRS leadership has over 40 years experience directing successful engineering and construction companies and programs for utilities, architectural engineering, and construction firms. This experience includes business development, proposals, project and construction management, supervision and direction of technical assignments in engineering, construction, planning, scheduling, cost control, estimating, plant design, procurement, fabrication, operational training and vendor, client and architect engineer/constructor liaison.
CRS leadership has worked on over 70 electric power projects from 3 MW to over 1,100 MW using fossil (coal, gas, and oil) and alternative fuels, such as solar, gasification, biomass, LNG, hydro, geothermal and waste-to-energy, as well as nuclear installations and many advanced power technologies.
They have provided and been fully responsible for over $5 Billion in projects from the estimating, scheduling, engineering, procurement and construction as well as operational training for electrical generating combined cycle plants ranging in size from 25 MW to 1,000 MW. Some of the recently completed projects within the CRS leadership portfolio include a turnkey fuel conversion on a 570 MW coal-fired boiler; Three 800 MW Coal-fired FGD systems, five 625 MW Coal-fired upgrades, an 800 MW repowering project; several LM 6000 projects including a 280 MW LM 6000 Combined Cycle and cogeneration facility; an 80 MW combined landfill gas recovery and waste-to-energy facility and has provided installations of over 30 boilers and steam systems.
Additional experience includes a $160 Million rebuilding of two 225 MW B&W gas fired super-critical steam generators replacing all pressure part work on waterwalls and reheat elements, and rebuilding two 225-megawatt cross-compound turbine generator units. The units were designed lower than the air quality standards in Southern California setting the new standard (BAT-Best Available Technology) for state-of-the-art NOx and CO emission systems. The plant modification included a new electrical and plant distribution system, including new steam turbine generator controls, new condensate polishing system and replaced all major piping. This fast track program was completed in only 12 months, which included the conceptual design, supply of equipment and material, detailed design, construction, management, start-up and operational training.
CRS leadership and engineering has developed and worked on the following facilities:
